Design and creation of a monumental sculptural plaster chandelier.
The mission entrusted by PCA concerns the redesigning of a large opening in the ceiling of the bank’s entrance hall to add essential lighting, which was lacking. Agent M suggested the creation of a monumental chandelier. The issues that had to be addressed included the relatively low ceiling height and the fact that the prestigious location required a touch of splendour. The agency opted to focus on the fiberglass mesh that covers the building which confers a stately touch. This was the source of inspiration for the chandelier that revisits the principle with an interpretation made to scale. Sculptural plaster – mix of plaster and resin – was the natural choice for the creation of the unique object that integrates seamlessly with the architectural structure.
